If you would like to know upfront what your cost will be, I offer these packages. For manuscripts over 60,000 words, it will cost more, but a similar discount from regular rates applies. All editing is performed to CMOC standards, and other style guides or special style sheet adherence may include additional costs.
You will need to supply the ISBNs for your manuscripts before I create your print-ready pdf. All formats will comply with the standards set out by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), which complies with bookseller expectations.
In all instances you will be provided access to download the editable files in case you need them in the future for changes, etc.
***I prefer not work on projects that use generative AI to produce the manuscript or illustrations.
Developmental Editing – $1000
This is for developmental editing only (up to 60,000 words); often an author will want their developmental editor to be different from their copy (or line) editor. If you decide on this plus another package, we can negotiate a discount.

Formatting Package – $100
- Format in Word using styles
- Includes line art at chapter headings and scene breaks – you will be given three options to choose from, or you can provide your own (jpeg, 300 dpi)

EPUB File Generation – $100
- Generate manuscript in epub or epub3 format (up to 60,000 word format)
Children’s Book Formatting Package – $250
You must provide all art work (jpeg, at least 300 dpi) and full manuscript in Word indicating what words go with what picture; we can discuss if you are not sure how to do this.
- Format in Affinity Publisher up to 48 pages (children’s books are usually published with a final number of pages divisible by 4)
- Format of front and back cover in Affinity Publisher
- Interior and cover files in print-ready pdf (2 separate files)
- You will receive ALL final files (Affinity can save to Adobe compatible file type)
Cover Design Package – $300
Provide an idea for your cover and I will research appropriate royalty-free photos/artwork, that you will approve before purchase. Includes up to $150 value of photos/art. Three options will be provided with slightly different fonts and designs that use the same acquired artwork; you choose one and I will provide all final files (Adobe-compatible file and pdf file ready for upload to publishing platform.) Note: you must be able to provide final page count and final page size so that cover wrap dimensions can be calculated. Incorrect information will incur additional fees.
NOTE: I do not edit slasher horror, gore horror, torture, gratuitous violence, or erotica (I am simply not good at editing scenes like these.)
